Chef Johnny "Capri" Rovito Bio
John Rovito was born in 1968 in Calabria, Italy. His first memories of food revolved around the home cooking of his Mother and Grandmother. Coming to the United States in 1978 he joined his Mother and the rest of his family in the kitchen of their 1st family owned and operated Restaurant.
His Mother the cooking pioneer of the family trained her son to be the passionate Chef he is today.
In 1998 Chef Rovito opened his first of 4 Restaurants to date. He incorporates Italian Influences in his dishes and believes cooking comes from the Heart and Soul. He has brought his interpretations of Family Cooking and Traditional Southern Italian Recipes to life at Capri Ristorante in Chicago, where in 2009 winning Best Italian Restaurant and Best Chef awards in the suburban area.
Chef Rovitos standards are high, using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients.
Full of life and Zest, Chef Rovito aka Chef Johnny, shares his passion with his customers making sure their dining experience is enjoyable and memorable and knowing they will be back again and again.
